my name is Keri Marion. this website is about as egomaniacal as any identity-oriented website can be. It's all about me, me, me and i think that's cool. i can make one for you, too, if you like.

my first true love is art, but - as most things worth the effort are - i find it to be a vexing concern by which art is rendered definition-less. often i doubt the validity of any of the work i've made thus far as actually *being* art, and yet, somehow, when i reference it, that is the name i declare it. sometimes this process afflicts me with short-term artistic paralysis. i recover for a month or two, only to decide at some later time that art is nothing short of bullshit (which is what i currently believe). in these periods i work on other things. for example..

i've been developing a series of cartoons called The B-Line over the last several years. Visit them here.

i've taken a great liking to cooking, and even more specificallly: baking. most recently, i learned to make my own pasta (and not with one of those sissy machines, either). the other night i worked up an honest sweat rolling out the pasta for a lasagne. i wish i knew how thick a centimeter is.

i've been called many names, some of which are inappropriate, but most of which are true. "purist" is a favorite. i also like "amazing.," "modest," "sincere," "trustworthy" and "likeable." i'm not so much a purist as i am the other things, but i do like things to be done with integrity.

one of my favorite writers is charles bukowski. at the end of factotum (the movie) there was a poem whose opening line says "if you're going to try, go all the way, otherwise don't even start." i love bukowski. the movie was okay.

i also love marcel duchamp. if you don't know who he is, that's okay. i won't look down on you over it. he's in every possible way the most influential artist of the 20th century regarding Contemporary Art (note capiitalization for emphasis on the genre as opposed to time/space). some could argue it was picasso, but i think picasso was more like "the most influential artist of the 20th century regarding Modern Art". i could argue this all day. anyway, duchamp kicks a s s.

let's see.. what else is interesting about me, me, me? oh, uhm... i like spice up my concre te yard with potted plants, and then pretend i live somewhere else. the plants die, and i still live here. i am looking to move to the east coast (if you want to help me leave the peninsula, contact me). i study words and languages. i come up with inventive ways to store things. i cut paper and then glue it to my windows. i experiment. i take a lot of notes. i like good company. i get very courageous and then i chicken out. i listen. i make up stories. i eat paste.
